Bloggers needed for online marketing campaign

Dear Blogger,

We are Work Interactive, a digital agency based in Edinburgh,
Scotland.

During the last few months we have been busy developing a tool called
Vertical Blogger (http://www.verticalblogger.com) which acts as a
meeting point between bloggers and advertisers so bloggers can make
money from their blogs.

Advertisers will post suggestions for blogs that need to have a
maximum of 250/300 words and will pay around £25-£30 per blog. Each
blog can post one article per campaign per month as long as it fits
into the sector of the advertiser's campaign.

If you are interested in using our platform you can register at
http://www.verticalblogger.com. The tool has been translated into
Spanish and English but very soon we will launch it in French and
other languages. However, bloggers from every nationality and language
can register.

If you know anybody who may be interested please forward them this
email.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact us.

Kind Regards

Golden rules for finding your life partner by Dov Heller (along one)

Finding a Life partner!

Golden rules for finding your life partner by Dov Heller, M.A.

When it comes to making the decision about choosing a life partner, no-one wants to make a mistake. Yet, with a divorce rate of close to 50%, it appears that many are making serious mistakes in their approach to finding Mr./Miss. Right!

If you ask most couples who are engaged why they're getting married, they'll say: "We're in love"; I believe this is the ...1 mistake people make when they date. Choosing a life partner should never be based on love. Though this may sound "not politically correct", there's a profound truth here.

Love is not the basis for getting married. Rather, love is the result of a good marriage. When the other ingredients are right, then the love will come. Let me say it again: "You can't build a lifetime relationship on love alone"; You need a lot more!!!

Here are five questions you must ask yourself if you're serious about finding and keeping a life partner.

QUESTION ..1: Do we share a common life purpose?
Why is this so important? Let me put it this way: If you're married for 20 or 30 years, that's a long time to live with someone. What do
you plan to do with each other all that time? Travel, eat and jog together? You need to share something deeper and more meaningful. You need a common life purpose.

Two things can happen in a marriage:
(1) You can grow together, or
(2) You can grow apart. 50% of the people out there are growing apart.

To make a marriage work, you need to know what you want out of life!
Bottom line; marry someone who wants the same thing.

QUESTION ..2: Do I feel safe expressing my feelings and thoughts with this person?

This question goes to the core of the quality of your relationship. Feeling safe means you can communicate openly with this person. The basis of having good communication is trust - i.e. trust that I won't get "punished"; or hurt for expressing my honest thoughts and feelings. A colleague of mine defines an abusive person as someone with whom you feel afraid to express your thoughts and feelings. Be honest with yourself on this one. Make sure you feel emotionally safe with the person you plan to marry.

QUESTION ..3: Is he/she a mensch?

A mensch is someone who is a refined and sensitive person. How can you test? Here are some suggestions. Do they work on personal growth on a regular basis? Are they serious about improving themselves? A teacher of mine defines a good person as "someone who is always striving to be good and do the right ";. So ask about your significant other: What do they do with their time? Is this person materialistic? Usually a materialistic person is not someone whose top priority is character refinement.

There are essentially two types of people in the world:
(1) People who are dedicated to personal growth and
(2) people who are dedicated to seeking comfort.
Someone whose goal in life is to be comfortable will put personal comfort ahead of doing the right thing. You need to know
that before walking down the aisle.

QUESTION ..4: How does he/she treat other people?

The one most important thing that makes any relationship work is the ability to give. By giving, we mean the ability to give another person pleasure.

Ask: Is this someone who enjoys giving pleasure to others or are they wrapped up in themselves and self- absorbed?
To measure this, think about the following: How do they treat people whom they do not have to be nice to, such as waiters, bus boys, taxi drivers, etc.. How do they treat their parents and siblings? Do they have gratitude and appreciation?

If they don't have gratitude for the people who have given them everything; can you do nearly as much for them? You can be sure that someone, who treats others poorly, will eventually treat you poorly as well.

QUESTION ..5: Is there anything I'm hoping to change about this person after we're married?

Too many people make the mistake of marrying someone with the intention of trying to "improve"; them after they're married. As a
colleague of mine puts it: "You can probably expect someone to change after marriage for the worse" If you cannot fully accept this person the way they are now, then you are not ready to marry them.

In conclusion, dating doesn't have to be difficult and treacherous. The key is to try leading a little more with your head and less with
your heart. It pays to be as objective as possible when you are dating; to be sure to ask questions that will help you get to the key
issues. Falling in love is a great feeling, but when you wake up with a ring on your finger, you don't want to find yourself trouble because you didn't do your homework.

WHAT KEEPS A RELATIONSHIP STRONG IS:

1. TRUST
2. COMMUNICATION
3. INTIMACY
4. A SENSE OF HUMOR
5. SHARING TASKS
6. SOME GETAWAY TIME WITHOUT BUSINESS OR CHILDREN
7. DAILY EXCHANGES (meal, shared activity, hug, call, touch, notes, etc.)
8. SHARING COMMON GOALS AND INTERESTS
9. GIVING EACH OTHER SPACE TO GROW WITHOUT FEELING INSECURE
10. GIVING EACH OTHER A SENSE OF BELONGING AND ASSURANCES OF COMMITMENT

Info: LPG CYLINDER (Imp)

From: Siba Gopal

Please share this very important information with your spouse & other family members.

VERY IMPORTANT Information.

"Have U ever heard about LPG gas cylinder's expiry date....!!

Expired Cylinders are not safe for use and may cause accidents. In this regard please be cautious at the time of accepting any LPG cylinder from the Vendor.

Here is how we can check the expiry of LPG cylinders:
On one of three side stems of the cylinder, the expiry date is coded alpha numerically as follows A or B or C or D and some two digit number following this e.g. D06.

The alphabets stand for quarters -
1. A for March (First Qtr),
2. B for June (Second Qtr),
3. C for Sept (Third Qtr), &
4. D for December (Fourth Qtr).

The digits stand for the year till it is valid. Hence D06 would mean December qtr of 2006.

Please Return Back the Cylinder that you get with a Expiry Date, they are prone to Leak and other Hazardous accidents...

lpg01.JPG

The second example with D13 allows the cylinder to be in use until Dec 2013.

lpg02.JPG

Kindly pass this to every one, and create awareness among the public..

From: Saxena, Ritesh

Guys be careful in bangalore...It is not safe...

Subject: Girls Beware and Be Safe

Hi All,

Yesterday night there was a incident happened to a girl in front of my eyes.

I was coming back from Forum Around 11. Near the Church of Madiwala there was a signal and Maruti Omni was standing there. I just crossed the van and One girl crossed me. Once she went near the van the People in the van Pulled her in and the girl started shouting and what i heard is huge slap and they started driving. There were people around a few feet away from that place.

I tried to catch the Van and ran behind it and few others who were standing there also started chasing with their bikes.  But hardly the van was running like a race Car. I think nobody would be able to catch them. It was too fast. We went to Police Station to file a complaint against the van. But the police responded at the least bothered. For them we were disturbing their sleep.

Girls,

Ensure that You are not going alone anywhere after nights. Even if you go by auto to home in night don’t go alone. Help others as well. Drop in by your home. Don’t take any risks. Life Matters.

Pass this to all girls whom u know and make them aware of whats happening. This should not happen to any other girls. Lets not give chances to those.

It happened no where other than Madiwala. Plz take necessary steps for your safety. That too while going late ensure u r guarded by somebody and don’t pass the stupid Omni. Still there are people using that for Kidnapping.

Info: Bandh in Bangalore on 9th Aug'09

BANDH IN BANGALORE ON 9th Aug’09

Members belonging to certain Kannada Organisations have given a Bangalore Bandh (General strike) call from Sunday 6AM to 6PM, 9th Aug’09 to protest against unveiling of the statue of the famous Tamil poet saint Thiruvalluvar. No political party is supporting the call and the High court of Karnataka has directed the state government to take tough measure against the agitators. The police have made adequate security arrangements.

The inaugural function to unveil the statue is happening in front of the RBANMS College on the Ulsoor lake area. Though we do not foresee any major disturbance/violence in the city due to the strike, we advise employees to avoid areas in and around the place of inauguration which may see minor skirmishes.

The areas that needs to be avoided are

·         Ulsoor tank bund and surrounding areas

·         Commercial street and surrounding areas

Please avoid travelling in Cabs

From: Saxena, Ritesh Dear All,

There is an incident I would like to share with you all.

On saturday night, at around 9:00PM, a guy(A) was to go from Noida to Gurgaon. He was waiting for a bus/Cab near Sec. 20 bsnl chowk for Dhaulakua/Gurgaon. He got a cab in which there were 4 people already sitting. Without noting the cab number, he sat in the cab. As the cab reached near Rajnigandha chowk, one of the guys sitting in the cab got out and bought something from the pan-wala. And so, the person who had taken cab was now sitting in the back seat at the middle.
As soon as the cab crossed DND toll, the guy sitting on the front side adjacent to the driver, turned back and slammed the person(A) who had boarded the cab. The guys already sitting at the back seat also joined in. The person(A) was in sheer shock that what has happend, and why he's being beaten.

Now, the cab crew asked the person(A) to handover all the stuffs he's carrying, which included his mobile, a watch and an ATM debit card.
The cab was then taken into some unknown parts of Delhi and dey started asking him the PIN number of the ATM. The person(A) being scared told them the correct PIN number. Next they started searching for a ATM, where they could withdraw the money from. The guys at the back seat started asking how much amount is kept in the debit card. The person(A) told them it is around 25K. He was slapped again, and asked to tell the correct amount.

During the next one hour of hostage, he(A) was continuously terrorised and asked if the PIN is not correct, they won't regret killing him. They started narrating the incidents that how persons have resisted them, and what brutality they had done with those, so its better for him(A) to tell the correct password. Finally, they withdrew all the cash (27.3K) from the ATM and kicked him out of the cab at somewhere near Sec. 62.

People, please be careful, while you are travelling. And please do not take cabs, prefer bus. This is not the only incident that has happened in recent times. This is just one of those instances. Not only while travelling, but you need to be careful even while dealing with strangers. And finally, do not make careless mistakes. Always be alert. The young blood sometimes thinks that all is ok and try to do odd things at odd times and all. But guys and girls, please remember one thing, it is not only you who is living this life, there are lot of other people who are living life with you, your parents, your friends, all the ones who care about you.
Life is very precious, care it!

Nandan's brief of his first day in parliament! (Interesting One)

From: Das, Satyapriya

From an INFOSCION to a POLITICION - Nandan's Chronicles

The House was in pin drop silence. I was brimming with anticipation and excitement!!!! Manmohan had informed me that my introduction was one of the important points of the agenda. I hoped that I will be able to make my speech properly. After so many interviews and conferences, I was nervous today!!!! After the Speaker indicated that the proceedings of the House could begin, Manmohan formally introduced me to the entire House. He mentioned that as the head of the Unique Identification Authority of India, I was responsible to ensure that each and every Indian had a digital smart card as a proof of his existence.

Manmohan spoke about why I was selected and also some references to the various projects executed by me in Infosys were mentioned. The House listened with rapt attention. I was asked to say a few words and I did exactly the same!!! I thanked the Government of India for having given me this opportunity and I assured the House that I would strive to successfully deliver this project. The Speaker then formally inducted me into the House and before the proceedings could move any forward, there was a small commotion on the other side of the hall.

It was Minister of Textiles who had a comment to make before the next point on the agenda. He made a request that I should be attired in a more austere way instead of a flashy suit. It did not go well with the image of a minister who should live to serve the common man and should be less ostentatious in his habits. I stood up to reply. I offered my apologies to the Honorable Minister and assured that I shall be in a more acceptable dress next time. I felt that he was right. We also used to have corporate dress code in Infosys. So it's here as well!!!!

I sat down and felt somebody nudging me. I turned around and to my surprise; it was the former Indian skipper and one of my favorite batsman Mohd. Azharuddin. I remembered that he had recently won the elections. I smiled at him and mentioned to him that I used to like his game very much, shaking his hand. No Rolex, I noticed. Azhar told me that he would “fix” me an appointment with an Italian designer who had designed his dapper Kurta suit. An Italian designer in Milan doing Kurtas!!!!! I made a note of this and reminded myself to give this example to Friedman for his next book,” The World Markets are flattened”.

Since there was no doubt about the “Fixational” capacities of Azhar, I told him to give me the details and I would consider. The proceedings of the House went on with numerous bills being debated and passed as I sat as a passive audience waiting for my project’s turn to come up. After the lunch break, it was the moment for me!!!!

MY PROJECT”S FIRST REVIEW CAME UP FOR PRESENTATION.

I was at sea. My laptop did not have any reserve power. I went to Manmohan and apprised him of the situation. I was sweating. He calmly replied that this would not be a cause of concern. I was flummoxed!!!! The Speaker asked me to explain to the House on what were my plans for the Unique Identity Project. I replied that I have a plan prepared for 30-60-90-120 days’ milestones and I have presentation to make for which I need a power socket, a projector and a screen. I had no idea what was going to happen after this.

The next couple of minutes were a complete jolt for me. I was completely in a tizzy. Let me just summarize what happened. A Joint Cabinet Secretary Committee was set up to judge the feasibility of my request. The Under Secretaries for the Ministries of Power, IT and Broadcasting will prepare a Viability Report after scrutinizing National Security threats to my request. This was because the power socket comes under Power, laptop comes under IT and projector comes under Broadcasting. I have also been told to reconsider my timelines of 30-60-90 days and start thinking in terms of years. Probably, they are right. I did not have the foresight in this matter.

The summary of the issue is that I need to come up with a more inclusive, democratic, comprehensive long term plan for this project to be executed over the next five years. I have also been given a presentation slot 3 months from now (by which the issues related to the power cord etc will also be resolved). I am filled with mixed reactions. I was planning for a quick resolution; the management wants a strategic solution. I come out of the House and text Murthy.

“You won’t believe it but these guys work just like us. I am on a NATIONAL BENCH for the next three months!!!!!!!!”

Try this

By: Suchi Gupta

You have to try this.... it takes 2 seconds. I could not believe this!!! It is from an orthopedic surgeon.............. This will boggle your mind and you will keep on trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't.  It's pre-programmed in your brain!

1.      Without anyone watching you (they will think you are a nutter!.......)
and while sitting at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2.      Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.
Told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how funny it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so
