Overview of ThoughtWorks
ThoughtWorks is an US based IT consultancy focused on building custom business software applications. ThoughtWorks is a highly respected consultancy known for technical excellence and superior execution and delivery of projects. Recruitment Process
Our recruitment process is quite rigorous and reflects our work culture. We take a lot of care in our selection process.
Resume Short-listing
The recruitment process begins when we enter every resume we receive into our Resume Database. The Recruitment Team carefully hand-picks profiles that seem to match our requirements.
Code problem
Every technical person in ThoughtWorks writes code. Our architects and senior developers are hands-on and code along with other developers. We therefore need to see the candidates’ code.
Technical Phone Interview
We usually do a technical phone interview for candidates who are not located in Bangalore. We sometimes do a technical phone interview for Bangalore-based people too, if there are too many candidates in the recruitment process.
Written Assessments
The in-office process starts with Written Assessments. We have two tests – a Logic test and a multiple-choice aptitude test. These written assessments give us a good indication of a person’s logic and problem solving capabilities which we consider very essential skills in our business. Anyone who deals with clients in ThoughtWorks has taken these tests – from fresh graduates, to experienced developers, to our Managing Directors.
Code Pairing
In ThoughtWorks, all developers write code in pairs. We test the comfort level with code pairing and get to know how the candidate will collaborate during design and coding.
Interviews
This is last stage of the selection process where ThoughtWorks and the candidate get to know each other. We talk about the work done by the candidate, evaluate his/her skills, discuss aspirations and also answer questions about ThoughtWorks and the role
